Earth Witch

Page 7. "The earth is a beautiful soft woman, and the witch is her voice." This one was not part of the list. I ran it by my professor and he okayed it. I chose it because there was only one metaphor in the list by a woman, and that was Brigitte Bardot, who wasn't exactly pro-feminist, plus her metaphor wasn't that interesting: "Peanut butter is pate for children." That wouldn't have been so bad except that there were so many that were shockingly sexist and quite a few that used gender exclusive language, so as my little form of rebellion, I chose a metaphor by a woman who is a feminist and who represents women in a positive light as opposed to "America is a beautiful woman chewing tobacco" or "A gourmet who counts calories is like a tart who checks her watch."
